Walking on Air, Sorta

Hi, honey, I'm home!

I managed a week-long event in Chicago last week. The participants were 20 college junior and senior young women. I can now add "cowboy" to my resume because last week I learned to herd.

While in Chicago, we visited the Sears Willis Tower Skydeck. I stepped out onto The Ledge, which was SO COOL!

That's the side of Sears Willis Tower under my left foot, Wacker Drive under my right foot, and the Chicago River to the right of that.

After working about 140 hours in the last two weeks, I took a mental health day today. I'm telling you, it really is good for the soul to check out every now and then. But, um, I'm not so sure one day was enough!

I've been up to 1,353 feet - what have you been up to?

  2. Ooh, I would love to do that! The Skydeck... not the 140 hours. Geez. You deserve a mental health WEEK.

By the way? Digging the new design. ;)

  5. Hi there. I just discovered your blog today and have really enjoyed reading it! That picture is insane...not sure if I could do that! I would, however, love to visit Chicago. It is one of the big US cities I have not yet been. Anyway, love the blog and will be back!

  7. Greenie - This outing was my idea and I debated about whether or not I would feel anxious about stepping out onto/into “The Ledge” from the moment I learned about it! It really was cool – and funny to watch the reactions of all of the other visitors as they experienced it…or tried to.

Vampy - I'm looking forward to a little mental health vacation after I move. *sigh* Cool design, isn't it? I decided it was time for a makeover. :)

Fannie - Turns out I really have NO fear of heights or anything like that, although I did experience a brief moment of dizziness at first.

Blunt - Chicago is the best city ever! Caught a cold somewhere during that work frenzy (shocking, no?) so due to that and the latest mental stress, I'm not sleeping so well. But I can apparently survive anything. Maybe I'm really a cockroach or a Twinkie.

jocie - Welcome! I love new visitors. :) You MUST visit Chicago - it's a great place to be.

Lindy - isn't it pretty? I like the vibrant colors and the "bubbles." :)

  8. I couldn't stand on that ledge, Violet! Just looking at the pictures makes me suck in my breath with nervousness....I'm terrified of heights!

Glad you think it's cool...I find it to be scary as hell.
